A couple of nearby Southern Indiana high school baseball and softball teams are still in action deep into the Indiana High School postseason.
The Evansville Memorial baseball team will battle Silver Creek in the IHSAA 3A Semistate on Saturday afternoon. If Memorial wins, they will then take on the winner of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Tri-West Hendricks on Saturday Night for a chance to go to the State Championship Game.
Castle High School is also playing in the state semifinals this weekend, they will take on New Palestine on Saturday morning. If they win, they will face the winner of Center Grove and Brownsburg for a chance to play in the 4A State Championship Game.
In Indiana High School softball, Tecumseh will play Caston in the 1A State Championship Game this Saturday and North Posey will face Andrean in the 2A State Championship on Friday.
The St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Texas Rangers last night by a final score of 4-3. The Redbirds trailed 3-1 in the 8th and were able to rally to tie the game, but the Rangers would walk it off on a base hit by Nathaniel Lowe to win it 4-3. The Cardinals fall to 25-36 on the year, Game 2 of the 3 game series will be tonight as Matthew Liberatore gets the start.
