The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team fell to Hamilton County in overtime last night by a final score of 61-60.
The Lady Bulldogs led by as many as 9 in the 2nd quarter, and had opportunities to win the game at the end of regulation and overtime, but came away empty handed.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fall to 15-8 and 7-2 in the Black Diamond Conference. Carmi does still hold a ½ game lead in the conference over Hamilton County who is 6-2.
The Lady Bulldogs have one more conference game left as they travel to Flora on Thursday. If the Lady Bulldogs win, they will win at least a share of the BDC Championship. Hamilton County will have to beat Fairfield twice in the span of a week in order to share the conference championship with Carmi-White County.
The Lady Bulldogs will have a non-conference road game tomorrow night as they travel to Mt. Carmel to face the Lady Aces in a battle of two of the top teams in Southern Illinois.
The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will hit the road tonight and travel to Edwards County for a conference game against the Lions. The Bulldogs enter tonight’s game with a 9-12 overall record and 2-3 record in the BDC. Carmi defeated Edwards County at home just three weeks ago. Edwards County is 17-7 on the year as they are also 2-3 in conference play.

The Carmi-White County Wrestling team will host their final home match of the season tonight as they host West Frankfort at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium for Senior Night. Before tonight’s match, the Bulldogs will honor their two seniors, Travor Mason and Kale Wiggins.
