Local Police Bust Couple for Meth
Carmi Police busted two local residents Monday afternoon, after authorities made a traffic stop, knowing the driver was driving on a suspended or revoked license.
The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Matthew R. Curtis, 40 of 115 Marshall Place. Curtis had stopped in front of Wal-mart and after police placed him under arrest for the driving violation a search of the area where Curtis had been sitting revealed a bag with close to 6 grams of crystal and powder meth, five and half grams of cannabis, plus schedule two and three narcotic pills.
Curtis and his passenger, 32 year old Holly Jo Miller, same address, were chaged with possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug parapheranalia.
Curtis was also charged with driving while license suspended and unlawful use of property, parking in the fire lane at Wal-mart.
Both, Curtis and Miller remained in custody early Tuesday following their arrest just after 2 Monday afternoon.
