Lengthy Meeting for Enfield Village Board

ENFIELD VILLAGE BOARD

4/16/19 SM

At the almost two hour meeting, the board approved a revised code of street regulations for the application and a permit for excavation or construction on any street, alley or public place.

You must apply for a permit at the village clerk’s office at a cost of $1,000. A $50,000 bond has to be filed, although that could possibly be waved depending on the circumstances. Proof of $1 million dollars in liability insurance must be presented and they are responsible for their own clean-up.

The Hamilton County Water District sent the village a letter stating that their board of directors approved raising water rates eight cents per 1,000 gallons to $4.14 per 1,000 gallons effective May 1st as per their contract with Enfield. The board decided not to raise the village’s water rates.

Residents were advised that they can now pay their utility bills online at GOVCARD.COM/ENFIELD. A minimal non-refundable service fee is included.

The village went to court concerning the properties owned by David Newman, Michael Dugan and James Steele for not cleaning them up and they were each fined $500. The board decided to pursue having the property formerly owned by Vinald Gupta condemned.

The village will turn the water on and off at the park when there is an event being held there.

The annual Easter egg hunt will be held this Saturday, April 20th at 1 PM sharp.

The board went into a 40 minute executive session to discuss employee raises and after the session decided to table the matter until a later time.

The new village board will be sworn in at May’s board meeting.
