An accident in Gallatin County Monday night resulted in a DUI citation issued by District 19 troopers.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, 32 year old Gabriel Hernandez of Marion was traveling north on U.S. Rt. 45 approximately ½ mile south of IL Rt. 141 Monday at 11:57 pm, when he drove partially off the roadway to the east. Hernandez then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn before exiting the roadway to the east and coming to rest in a field.
Hernandez was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgway Police Department, Omaha Fire Department, Norris City Fire Department and Lifeline Ambulance Service.
Hernandez was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
