Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood has been named as a special prosecutor in the case against a Williamson County State’s Attorney office employee who has been arrested on drug charges.
22 year old Darien Daniel of Marion was arrested by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group on three charges of unlawful delivery of marijuana on Monday. He has resigned his position with the prosecutor’s office and posted bail on Wednesday morning following a court hearing.
Hood will handle the prosecution. The first court date has been set for September 19 in Marion.
