(McLeansboro, Illinois) – Hamilton Memorial Hospital hosted an open house on Thursday, April 25th to introduce the new state of the art Hologic 3D mammography service.
For the one in eight women that will develop breast cancer within their lifetime and 250,000 women this year alone, this means that the same 3D mammography equipment that is considered the gold standard in breast cancer detection in teaching hospitals and large breast centers across the nation, is now available right here, close to home at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
This 3D mammography technology is clinically proven to detect 20-65% more invasive breast cancers compared to 2D mammography alone.
