McLeansboro, Illinois – July 1, 20205 – Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) is proud to announce the formation of its new Patient and Family Engagement Committee (PFEC)—a collaborative initiative that brings patients and their loved ones to the table to help shape the future of care at HMHD.
The PFEC is designed to provide valuable insight into the patient and family experience, ensuring that the voices of those receiving care remain central to the hospital’s mission of excellence. Committee members, known as PFEC Advisors, will serve as advocates and partners, offering thoughtful suggestions and sharing stories to help improve the quality, safety, and experience of care.
“Listening to the lived experiences of our patients and their families is one of the most meaningful ways we can evolve and improve as a hospital,” said Staci Frank, HMHD Quality and Risk Management Director. “The PFEC gives our community a direct and powerful voice in shaping how we deliver care.”
PFEC Advisors will have the opportunity to:
· Share personal experiences—both positive and negative—to help drive change
· Participate in discussion groups and feedback sessions
· Review or assist in creating patient education materials
· Contribute to short-term improvement projects alongside HMHD staff
To be eligible, applicants must have been a patient at Hamilton Memorial Hospital or the family member of a patient within the past five years. PFEC Advisors serve as representatives of all patients and families and work in partnership with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for progress.
