FMH March Calendar of Events

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group:

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet Saturday, March 3rd from 11 a.m. – Noon, located in the Harlan Yates Board Room located in the FMH Medical Arts Complex. The MS Support Group meets the first Saturday of each month.

CPR Classes:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital holds CPR Classes monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. You must pre-register by calling 618-847-8367. This month’s CPR class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7th.

Fairfield Memorial Hospital to host ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Training:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital will hold the next Advanced Cardiac Life Support class on March 8th at 9 a.m. The cost is $30 for the ACLS course. Should a CPR card be needed, there will be an additional $10 charge. These classes will be held in the Medical Arts Complex Education Room. If you would like to learn more or register for the course, please contact Deb Spillman, CMSRN, FMH Clinical Practice Coordinator, at 618-847-8241. Upcoming scheduled dates for Advanced Cardiac Life Support ($30 class fee): May 1st, July 9th, September 5th, and November 7th. Future class dates for Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes are as follows: April 5th, June 5th, August 2nd, October 29th, and December 5th. Please register one week prior to class, if possible.

Cancer Care Support Group:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital holds a Cancer Support Group meeting once a month on the second Thursday of the each month from 6-7 p.m. in the Medical Arts Complex Education Room, with the next meeting being held, Thursday, March 8th.

Diabetes Support Group:

Join FMH on Thursday, March 15th for the Diabetes Support Group Meeting. Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Certified Diabetes Educator, Stephen Welty, RN, CDE, will lead a discussion on the various diabetes medications, from pills to injectables, new ideas and old ideas. The meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. in the FMH Medical Arts Complex Education Room.

3D Mammography Mobile Event in Albion

On Saturday, March 17th beginning at 8 a.m. at the Edwards County High School (ECHS), Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging team will be performing 3D Mammograms from their Mobile Unit that will be set up at ECHS. Fairfield Memorial Hospital understands that your time and your life are valuable. Therefore, FMH is bringing their Mobile 3D Mammography Unit to Edwards County to care for those who are in need of a Screening Mammogram. No physician order needed for those who are over the age of 40. It must have been at least one year since your last Mammogram. Patients are asked to bring their insurance card, photo ID, and doctor’s contact information. This event is for annual screening Mammograms only. Individuals can call the FMH Diagnostic Imaging Department at 618-847-8249 to secure an appointment with one of FMH’s skilled technologists. Walk-Ins are also welcome. Book Fair:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be holding their Spring Book Fair on Monday, March 26th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Medical Arts Complex Community Education Room. A percentage of all proceeds benefit the Skilled Care Unit Activities and Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Cisne Easter Egg Hunt

Be sure to join Fairfield Memorial Hospital at the Cisne Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st at 10 a.m. on the Cisne Square. Fairfield Memorial Hospital is participating this year and will be giving away a child’s bike to one lucky child who finds the special egg with the bike certificate in it. In addition, Horizon Healthcare’s Cisne Medical Clinic staff will be handing out cookies, drinks, and canvas totes to those who attend.
