29 year old Shania Buchanan of Burnt Prairie was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday evening on a White County warrant for two counts of forgery. Buchanan was arrested at her residence at 6:23pm and transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting a $2500 bond.
40 year old James Shelton of Carmi was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies and Carmi Police at his residence at 7:51pm Saturday night on a Hamilton County warrant for violation of a court order. Shelton was transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting a $550 bond.
At 10:43pm Saturday, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department informed White County about an underage drinking party taking place west of Mill Shoals near the Hamilton County line. Deputies from both departments along with District 19 State Troopers arrived to investigate the report, and three female juveniles and two male juveniles were arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. All five were transported to the White County Jail and were released to family members after processing.
