Enfield Village Board approves budget

The Enfield Village Board met for their regular September meeting on Tuesday night.  Without discussion, the final fiscal year 2017 budget was approved along with the tax levy ordinance. A public hearing on the budget was held prior to the meeting.

Village attorney Johnathan Turpin will draw up an ordinance to be approved at next month’s meeting that would allow the Village to sell excess property by putting it up for bid.

Also a towing ordinance was approved for impounding vehicles with fines ranging from $100 to $200 depending on the severity of the offense.

The contract has been signed with Integrity Roofing of Harrisburg to repair the roof on the Village building, with the work most likely to be completed before Mule Day.

A hazard mitigation plan was approved which would determine coordination of a plan of action in case of a natural disaster, like a tornado or an earthquake.

The Illinois EPA made an inspection of the Village’s water system and found no violations.

The Board approved allowing Christina Wilson to place a new single-wide trailer on her property at 513 Hickory Street.

The drop box at the bank has been repaired at a cost of $350.

Again this year, $150 was donated for an ad in the NCOE yearbook

There will be another town-wide rummage sale on Saturday, October 28th and clean-up day will be held on Saturday, November 4th.

Halloween trick-or-treating hours on Tuesday, October 31st will be from 4 to 8 pm, with Trunk-or-Treat from 5 to 8 pm
