Early morning accident in Wayne County sends two to hospital

Illinois State Police District 19 troopers investigated an early morning traffic accident in Wayne County that sent two Indiana residents to the hospital.

According to the preliminary crash report, at 3:55 am Monday 26 year old Ethan Rose of Otwell, Indiana was eastbound on Interstate 64 near mile marker 115 when his vehicle travelled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned.  The cause of the accident has been listed as driving while fatigued.

Rose and a passenger, 26 year old Cassie Borden, also of Otwell, were transported by the Wayne County Ambulance Service to a local hospital.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Fairfield Rural Fire Department and Rick’s Towing.
