Earl Sentenced to Five Years

Earl Sentenced to Five Years

 

Carmi resident, 32 year old Steven A. Earl was sentenced to five years in an Illinois prison Monday in White County Circuit Court, according to White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud. .

Earl was sentenced for domestic battery, a Class 4 felony. He was also sentenced to four years mandatory supervised release on the domestic battery charge.

Earl will also serve five years for a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. That sentence includes one year supervised release.

Earl was on probation for the meth charge, when he committed domestic battery and was arrested by Carmi Police. That led to his probation being revoked and a day in court.

Public Defender Brian Shinkle represented Earl.

The sentences were handed down by Judge T. Scott Webb.
