Carmi Police responded to an accident scene Monday afternoon that sent a Carmi woman to an Evansville hospital.
According to the crash report, at 4:25 pm Carolyn Hanks was westbound on Kerney Street, when she did not stop at the stop sign at Plum Street and struck a vehicle driven by Joann Leathers.
Leathers was transported to Deaconess Hospital by the White County Ambulance Service. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene, and Hanks was cited for failure to yield at the intersection.
