Barbre Team Brings Home the Bacon Monday Night

Nineteen teams descended into the muddy slop Monday night to test their chops against sly pigs and several put up impressive times, none more impressive than the 13-17 age group which saw “The Baconators” team made up of Abe Sutton, Reece Gholson, Seth Clodfelter, Levi Clodfelter, and Lincoln Draper wrangle their bacon in just 5 seconds.  The 12 and under team of Braden Tomm, Jack Taylor, Bennett Moore, Beckham Moore, and Abe Aud also turned in an impressive time of just 7 seconds.  Not to be outdone, the business division was won by Eastern Services.  Their team made up of Andrew Hunsinger, Alex Hunsinger, Alex O’Daniel, Cole Fechtig, and Lane Fechtig corralled their piglet in just 7 seconds as well.  The 18 and up division winners saved their best for last.  After penning a single pig in 8 seconds, the “Jaguars” headed up by Whitney Barbre along with Cade Allen, Kinzy Williams, Justinn Bell, and Landon Driscoll followed that up by going toe to hoof with a pair of piglets and clapping, stomping, and hooting them into a pen in just 19 seconds to win the overall championship.

Also Monday night, winners were announced at the rabbit show.  Ethan Thompson took Grand Champion honors; Johanna Zieren won Reserve Champion.  In the showmanship, Nevan Jordan took the Junior Rabbit Showman trophy with Gracie Walker winning Senior Rabbit Showman.

Tuesday night will feature a night of worship at the grandstand with no cost to enter the grandstand and enjoy entertainment.  It’s also a big day for 4-H as General Projects will be shown throughout the day and remain available on display throughout the evening.  Beyond that, 4-Hers will show off their tractor driving skills and the Livestock Weigh-In gets underway at 5pm.
