The Carmi Rotary club had a mixed bag of items on their agenda for Thursday’s meeting. First off, Tom Logan shared a few of the changes to the 2018 tax laws, stating that where a person might lose something in one place they might make up for it in another.
Tom then shared some predictions, and lastly, he told a couple of “blonde men” jokes.
Randy Douglass continued the comic theme, by playing a short video of Jeannie Roberts who is a well-known comic and a former Miss America.
Randy also showed the quick video clip of Carmi’s game winning shot in the Eldorado Holiday tourney.
Patrick Haskell won the 50/50 drawing but did not claim the day’s cash prize, meaning it will roll over to next week’s drawing.
Cindy Conley was named as the day’s phantom.
The Carmi Rotary club meets every Thursday at noon at the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Carmi. Anyone wishing to learn more about this civic organization is welcome to attend a meeting or speak with any Carmi Rotarian.
