Carmi Rotary gets update on district activities

At Thursday’s Rotary meeting, Janice Alka of the Mt. Carmel Rotary Club came and told the club what District events were going on. Janice is the assistant governor to our club.

In club business, Rotarians went over last minute plans for the chili supper to be held on January 14 at the new Lion’s Den. The chili supper will be held from 5-7PM. The dinner includes chili and all the fixings, dessert and drink for a $7 donation. Andy Williams named JR Hubele as the phantom. Lynn Stephens won the honor of selecting the pink ball in the 50/50 drawing but did not so the large pot rolls over. Andy Williams and Little Giant prepared a delicious meal of ribs, scalloped potatoes and baked beans. The club meets at noon on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Anyone wishing to get involved is encouraged to come help Rotary with the many local projects and charities that are supported.
