
A 911 call Thursday afternoon just after 4pm led Carmi Police to 614 Illinois Street where the caller advised an assault had just occurred. There, officers arrested both 40-year-old James Warren and 33-year-old Nathan Johnson. The men, neighbors are both back out on pre-trial release but facing Aggravated Assault charges. Johnson, who lives at 614, also received a citation for Criminal Trespassing. The pair will be due in court May 6th at 9am.
In the early morning hours of Friday, Carmi Police placed 51-year-old Louis Hankins in cuffs. It was about a quarter after midnight when Carmi Police made the arrest after calls about a male was reported as entering vehicles at both the nursing home and within the neighborhood surrounding College Boulevard. Once Hankins was detained, police say he admitted to entering several vehicles and taking items. He’s facing charges of Burglary, Theft under $500, and two counts of Attempted Burglary to a Vehicle. Hankins is waking up this morning still behind bars awaiting a court appearance.
