Carmi Police Reports
Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter released several incident reports this (Fri) morning covering incidents from Wednesday and Thursday and one incident that occurred early this (fri) morning.
Shortly after 12:30 this (fri) morning, Carmi police arrested Robert Jay WHitler, 53 of 893 County Road 1362 North, Carmi on a charge of driving while license suspended or revoked and operation an uninsured vehicle. Whitler posted $150 bond and a $20 booking fee prior to be released from custody.
Carmi Police are investigating a report of burglary. According to the report, Mary E. Jordan of 404 First Street, Carmi said someone took her blue and gray medical power chair from her sister’s property at 605 N. Eighth Street. The theft occurred sometime in the past month. The chair has armrests and a joystick controller.
Authorities arrested 57 year old Harold D. Littlefield of Norris City on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of property and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Littlefield was pulled over on a traffic stop and a K-9 officer indicated a positive response to drugs in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle produced a glass pipe with residue that tested positive for meth. A passenger in the vehicle was released according to the report.
Carmi Police were assisted at the scene by Southern Illinois Drug Task Force and Mt. Carmel Police Department’s K-9 unit.
Littlefield was busted shortly after noon Wednesday.
Local police also responded to a report of domestic battery at 109 Neely Circle. A female juvenile was taken into custody and later released to her mother. The report indicated the victims were Jordan Dotson of Enfield and Samantha Benham of 109 Neely Circle, Carmi. Because the suspect is a juvenile further information concerning that case was not available.
