Carmi Police not clowning around with weekend arrests

The Carmi Police Department arrested 24 year old Daniel Desper of Carmi Friday afternoon for driving on a suspended license.  Desper was taken into custody in the parking lot of Pundrakes at 2:57 pm and was later released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

 

Friday night, Carmi Police received several calls about two individuals in clown masks.  Officers made contact with two juveniles in the area of Main and Oak Streets who said that they were just trying to scare people after seeing similar actions on Facebook.  Officers explained the seriousness of the situation, and sent the two males home, but latter took a report of an incident that occurred before the contact was made.  A report has been forwarded to the States Attorney’s office.

 

42 year old Gary Perkins of Carmi was arrested following a traffic stop by Carmi officers Friday night on charges of driving without a license and illegal transportation of alcohol.  Perkins was stopped in the Pundrakes parking lot at 8:58 pm and transported to the White County Jail.  Perkins was released after posting a$150 bond.

 

25 year old Emily Madden of Carmi was arrested Sunday morning at Pundrakes after she was accused of violating an order of protection at Walmart.  Madden was taken into custody at 11:49 am and is being held at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
