Carmi Police make three arrests Wednesday

Carmi Police arrested 62 year old Leland Rost of Carmi on charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle and disorderly conduct.  Witnesses saw Rost inside a vehicle parked at the Carmi Community Health Center, and when confronted by the owner, Rost commented “Don’t mess with somebody that’s got a knife”.  Rost then left the scene and was taken into custody at Little Giant at 12:10 pm.  Rost was found to have a knife in his possession.  He was transported to the White County Jail, and is being held on a $150 bond.

At 3:10 pm, Carmi officers initiated a traffic stop in the First Mid Illinois Bank parking lot.  The driver, 35 year old Jonathon Fann of McLeansboro was found to be driving without a valid license.  A passenger in the vehicle, 27 year old Cessilee Fugate of Harrisburg was found to have 7 grams of cannabis and a piece of crystal methamphetamine in her purse.  A further search of the vehicle turned up an additional 2.5 grams of meth, digital scales, five dime bags, and a glass meth pipe.  Both Fann and Fugate were charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and cited for possession of cannabis.  Both were transported to the White County Jail and are being held without bond pending a court hearing.
