Carmi Police make New Year’s Day arrests in domestic dispute

On the night of New Year’s Day, the Carmi Police Department was called to the scene of a domestic disturbance on Railroad Avenue.  Just before 10:15pm, officers arrested 46 year old Rada Turner and 50 year old John Turner at their home at 201 Railroad following the altercation.  Both have been charged with domestic battery and are being held at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.

 

Sunday night, Carmi Police received a report of a gasoline theft at Pundrakes.  Just after 8pm it was reported that a female driving a black car drove off after not paying for $5 in gas.

 

Early Monday morning, Carmi police stopped 50 year old Brenda Jolley of Los Lunas, New Mexico at the intersection of 5th and Oak Streets.  Jolley was found to be driving on a suspended license and was placed under arrest at 1:47am.  Jolley was transported to the White County Jail and was released after posting a $150 bond.
