Carmi Police kept busy over New Year weekend

Carmi Police received a 9-1-1 call about a reckless driver just before 4 pm on Friday.  When officers located the vehicle, they took 37 year old Miranda Burnett of Carmi into custody on a charge of driving under the influence.  Burnett was stopped at the intersection of Oak and 6th Streets and transported to the White County Jail, where she later posted a $100 bond and was released.  Burnett was also cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield.

Friday night, Denton Weiss reported to Carmi Police that a male subject had stolen money from the vehicle of a Gottzz’s delivery driver.  Weiss reported the man was on a bicycle in the alley behind the restaurant and that he had security camera footage of the incident.   Later, officers located and arrested 35 year old Roger Spoonemore of Carmi on charges of burglary, criminal trespass to a vehicle, and theft under $500.  Spoonemore is being held at the White County Jail on a $7500 bond.

Saturday night, 22 year old Brandon Stover of Carmi turned himself in at the Carmi Police Department on a White County warrant for criminal damage to property.  Stover surrendered at 8:52 pm and was turned over to the custody of jail staff.  He was later released after posting a $150 bond.

Monday night at 7 pm, Carmi Police were called to an address on Conger Street about a domestic disturbance.  At the residence, an officer observed 57 year old Kelly Stoll shove a male subject.  Stoll was taken into custody on a charge of domestic battery and transported to the White County Jail, where she was held without bond pending a court appearance.
