The Carmi Police Department is investigating the theft of two guns reported on Sunday. Serena Short told officers at 2 pm that sometime between October 2nd and Sunday, a Remington shotgun and a Ruger pistol were taken from a residence at 102 Herbert Avenue.
Just before 6 pm Sunday, Carmi Police arrested 45 year old Michael French at his residence on Rice Street on a charge of domestic battery. French was transported to the White County Jail and was being held without bail pending a court hearing.
