Tuesday morning, Carmi Police responded to a call from the First Christian Church. Pastor Greg Grant reported that sometime over the weekend, someone forced their way into the church’s shuttle bus and rummaged through it. A dome light was also broken.
Early Wednesday morning, 33 year old Amanda Mercer of Carmi surrendered at the Carmi Police Department on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of retail theft. Mercer was processed at the White County Jail at 3:21 am and was released after posting a $500 bond.
