Carmi Police have busy afternoon on Monday

Carmi Police arrested two individuals on drug charges following a traffic stop Monday afternoon.  At 1:50 pm, officers spotted 35 year old Jesse Stephens of Carmi in the passenger seat of a van on Lexington Avenue.  Stephens was wanted on a charge of criminal trespass to property and was placed under arrest.

A search of Stephens and the vehicle turned up a pill bottle with a controlled substance, a baggie of synthetic marijuana, and a pill bottle of synthetic marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle, 40 year old Olivia Miller of Enfield, was found to be in possession of a pouch under the driver’s seat containing two meth pipes, a cannabis pipe, and a container of marijuana.  Officers also found a baggie with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine and a stun gun in Miller’s purse.

Both Stephens and Miller are being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.

24 year old Brandon Fromm of Carmi was arrested at 2:23 pm following a traffic stop for driving on a suspended license.  Carmi Police pulled Fromm over at the intersection of Cherry and Walnut and he was later released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

Carmi Police responded to a call for service at 510 2nd Street at 3:38 pm Monday and arrested 36 year old Michael Allen, Jr. on charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.  Allen was taken to the White County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $150 bond.
