Carmi Police arrest two; investigate burglaries over weekend

Friday morning, Carmi Police arrested 34 year old Jennifer Adcock of Carmi following a traffic stop on Fifth Street.   Adcock was seen driving just after 11 am, and was known to be wanted on a warrant for attempting to buy methamphetamine precursors.

After Adcock was in custody, a search of her vehicle turned up a switchblade knife and five grams of a crystallized rock substance in a baggie.  Two additional baggies were discovered by staff at the White County Jail while Adcock was being processed that contained white powder that tested positive for methamphetamine.  Adcock has been charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine in addition to the warrant charge.  She is being held at the White County Jail in lieu of a combined bond amount of $2650.

Saturday evening, 40 year old Donald Davis was arrested by Carmi Police outside his residence on Saunders Avenue on a White County warrant for aggravated domestic battery.  Davis was taken into custody at 5:35 pm and is being held at the White County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Carmi Police also are investigating several thefts reported over the weekend.
