A traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon resulted in a list of charges against a Carmi man. Carmi Police stopped 30 year old Andrew McCauley on a motorcycle at Mears Market at 12:41pm for driving on a revoked license. After McCauley was in custody, a search discovered two glass pipes with residue, a hypodermic syringe with liquid, and a plastic container with suspected methamphetamine. In addition to the drug charges, McCauley was also charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to register a vehicle after sale. McCauley was transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held without bail pending a court appearance.
Carmi Police also arrested 26 year old Daniel Guffey of Carmi Wednesday afternoon on a failure to appear warrant for an original charge of criminal damage to property. Guffey was taken into custody at Danny’s Pool Room at 1:08pm and transported to the White County Jail where he is being held on a $575 bond.
