Carmi Police arrest three over weekend

Carmi Police arrested 20 year old Jacob Grove of New Haven on a charge of retail theft Friday morning after he was accused of shoplifting at the Carmi Dollar General store.  Grove was taken into custody in the parking lot at 10:08 am, and was transported to the White County Jail.  He was released after posting a $150 bond.

Friday night, Carmi Police arrested 29 year old Brittany McDonald of Carmi at her residence on Sycamore Street on a Franklin County warrant. McDonald was taken into custody just after 9 pm, and taken to the White County Jail.  After being searched at the jail, McDonald was found to be in possession of a hypodermic syringe inside her bra.  The liquid inside the syringe tested positive for methamphetamine.

McDonald then was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  She is being held without bond on the White County charges pending a court hearing, and a $500 bond on the Franklin County warrant.

Saturday morning, 52 year old Rebecca Maier of Crossville was arrested by Carmi Police after an incident was reported at 102 Herbert Avenue.  Maier was charged with disorderly conduct, assault, aggravated battery, domestic battery, and illegal transportation of alcohol when she was taken into custody at 11:07 am.  She is being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.
