Carmi Police arrested 24 year old Harley Lewallen of Carmi Friday evening on a White County warrant for burglary and theft.
Just before 6 pm, a Carmi officer saw Lewallen in the 800 block of Sycamore Street. Lewallen saw the officer and fled into a residence on 9th Street. Officers obtained permission to search the residence, finding Lewallen in the kitchen. Lewallen attempted to flee through a back door, but was apprehended while resisting arrest.
Lewallen was transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of a $7500 bond.
