24 year old Joshua Whitehead of Carmi was arrested Thursday night by Carmi Police following a traffic accident on Lexington Ave. At 7:50pm, officers arrived at 112 Lexington to find Whitehead had lost control of his vehicle and had damaged a fence, birdbath, and trellis. Whitehead was taken into custody after it was observed that his driver’s license was expired and that he was intoxicated. Whitehead was charged with DUI of alcohol, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more, and no valid license and was transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held pending the post of a $300 bond.
