Carmi Hospital Back on the Market; Work on Carmi Stage Ongoing

The Carmi hospital is back on the market according to social media and Zillow.  It could be yours if you have the remarkable funds to pony up.  According to records, the Carmi hospital sold from New Chicago Investments in Bolingbrook to TSA Holding Group in San Francisco for $84,000.  New Chicago Investments, listed as an Indiana company purchased the hospital at tax sale for a paltry $5,000.  The property is now listed on Zillow at $45 per square foot or better put, $2,000,000.

Work continues on the new stage at the downtown Carmi City Park.  Mayor Pollard says he expects the stage itself to be useable by Corn Day though he doesn’t anticipate work being done by then.  The stage will be covered and Pollard says due to other projects and the storm cleanup from earlier this year, that part won’t be complete for some time still yet.

Hospital was built in prior to “1968”, cause I was born 1955

I wish other things would be done to the town versus building that stupid stage that has been one thing that has been on his brain since he was elected was an amphitheater. It’s really sad that things like that are more important

Wish the hospital could be bought and renovated to be a hospital again.

I am curious as to what happened to all the money that was raised in a vain effort to save it. Funny how that sort of thing seems to get conveniently forgotten.

      People live there!
It’s rude to say it should be torn down!
More people could live there if it was fixed!

No they don’t the nursing home is not connected to the hospital.. go and look for yourself and you’ll see the only thing that is connecting to the hospital is the storage room and that’s it. So if they torn the hospital down it will not effect the residents living there. That hospital is a health hazard and drug addicts breakage into the hospital all the time.
