Carmi City Council continues IMRF participation and employee safety program

The Carmi City Council met for a short meeting Tuesday night to close out March.  After approving minutes and financials, the Council unanimously voted to pass both resolutions on the agenda.

The Council approved participation for elected officials in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.  The reauthorization is required every two years, and affects the offices of Mayor, Clerk and Treasurer.

The Council also renewed the employee safety incentive program for April 1 to March 31st, 2018.  City Clerk Brian Allen reported that this past year, there were no at fault accidents recorded by City employees.

Mayor Pollard wanted to clarify that he owns no part of the Taco Factory as was reported in the last issue of the Disclosure newspaper.  A retraction has been posted on their website.

The meeting moved into closed session at 5:35 pm.  In the closed session, the Council made a personnel move, as Bucky Gwaltney was assigned to the water wells for the City.  The meeting adjourned around 5:57 pm.
