Carmi and Grayville Councils Meeting Today

Carmi and Grayville Councils

The Carmi and Grayville City Council are scheduled to meet today; Grayville will meet in a special session this morning and the Carmi City Council will meet tonight for their regular meeting, however the meeting time has changed.

Carmi Council will meet at 6 this evening, that’s thirty minutes later than the normal start time of 5:30.

The Carmi meeting has a full agenda following the swearing in of Mike Knight, Mark Blake, and Jeremy COurson, who were all re-elected to their aldermen seats in March. Jim Totten will also be sworn in; Totten won the seat vacated by Lance Yearby, who did not seek reelection due to work obligations.

The local meeting will include reappointments to the police pension and library board. Carmi council will address a request from Grant Gee of Edwards Jones concerning façade improvements.

City Electrical Engineer David Coston will address council about Generator 11 and other electrical issues. Other items are fairly routine including City Attorney Greg Stewart who will explain the Open Meetings Act.

The Grayville City Council is meeting at 9 this morning to approve an agreement between the city and the union representing public and maintenance employees. That meeting was supposed to have been held this past Friday, but due to a lack of a quorum it was rescheduled for this (tues) morning.
