Just after noon on Tuesday, Carmi Police arrested 29 year old Tara Johnson of Carmi at the Dollar General on a charge of retail theft. Johnson was accused of attempting to steal a Duracell sync and charge cable. She was transported to the White County Jail, and later released after posting a $150 bond.
Tuesday afternoon, Carmi Police took a report of a hit and run accident on Gilpin Street. A car owned by Cynthia Murphy of Bremen, Indiana was parked on the street and damaged by an unknown vehicle that left the scene sometime between Monday and Tuesday.
21 year old Dakota Goodwin of Carmi was arrested at Pundrakes at 10:12 pm Tuesday by Carmi Police on a White County warrant for theft over $500. Goodwin is being held at the White County Jail in lieu of a $200 bond. He was also cited for possession of cannabis at the time of his arrest.
