Bone Gap Teen Behind Bars on Sexual Assault Charges

A Bone Gap teen is behind bars at the White County Jail awaiting a bail review following a first appearance in White County court Tuesday.  18 year old Joseph Cotton of Bone Gap was arrested and booked on the evening of March 11th.  Online court records indicate he’s been charged with Criminal Sexual Assault a Class X felony along with a Class A Misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Assault/Use of a Deadly Weapon and that the alleged offense happened February 24th.  Cotton is being defended by public defender Brian Shinkle while State’s Attorney Denton Aud is listed as the prosecutor.  Cotton’s preliminary hearing is set for April 5th.  Illinois State Police handled the case/arrest.

      Ok go after people that there is evadances proving he is innocent but I know of 3 people with 2 kids that sale his zannxs and aren’t supporting to be around everyone order by dcfs or the kids will be places out of the home. They drive with no licenses or insurance and have tickets and a accident with you and are into methamphetamine but nothing is happening to them.why ???? Don’t you think you should put more time into them and release the inasent .how injust white county has become what a great message your putting out .its ok to do methamphetamine and sale zannxs and have kids but if your in accent well keep you in jail… freejojo###

    Xanax, innocence, suppose!!! Maybe more concentration in school and less concentration of street “activity” could go a long way in correcting many problems. Fourth grade literacy is NOT going to get a person far in this world.!!!
