Blood Drive Set for Today

Blood Drive Coming Up

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 2 until 7 this afternoon, February 26 at the First Christian Church here in Carmi.

Patrick Conner of the Red Cross reminded everyone the need for blood is critical at this time of the year. All eligible donors are urged to give the gift of life.

Conner said in February, extreme winter weather in some parts of the country and seasonal illnesses often make it difficult for the Red Cross to maintain a sufficient blood supply. Health individuals are urged to give now and if you know someone who has never donated before, encourage them to donate the gift of life.

The Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 blood donations every day across the nation for patients in need. A blood donation may give more life to kids fighting cancer, older adults battling chronic illness or accident victims with traumatic injuries.

If you are Blood Type; O positive, O negative, A negative or B negative you are asked to consider a double red donation,

One may schedule an appointment for the Feb. 26 blood drive at 1-800-Red Cross (1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org and enter FCCCarmi to schedule an appointment.

Again the blood drive coming up from 2 until 7, today, Feb. 26 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church at 504 Bohleber Drive, here in Carmi.
