Carmi Township Road Commissioner Chris McEwing announced blacktop construction will begin on County Road 70 East, that’s the Brownsville Blacktop Thursday, weather permitting.
McEwing explained the work will be done from the Brownsville Attendance Center to Highway 14.
He said it should only take a day, possibly two, and apologized for any inconvenience the work may cause to residents and motorists in that area.

October 19, 2023 at 12:46 pmThat “road work” was a total joke!!! The new asphalt is as bad as it was before. Whoever did it did a terrible job. My family and I drive that road about everyday and anyone we have talked to that travels it have all complained about how bad it was done
