In White County Court on Wednesday, 49 year old Michael Bassemier of Carmi entered an open plea of guilty to one count of burglary in relation to the August burglary of the Hank and Donna Matz residence according to States Attorney Denton Aud.
Bassemier is facing between 3 and 7 years in prison when he will be sentenced on January 30th at 1:30 in the courtroom of Judge T. Scott Webb. Bassemier is being represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle.
As part of the plea, a charge of theft was dismissed and Bassmier agreed to make restitution in the amounts of $4930 along with Charla Beth Sullivan and $43,804 along with Mark S Keller, who both have been charged in the case.
