WVC RADIO/TV DEPARTMENT OFFERS SEVERAL DEGREE OPTIONS
Mt. Carmel, IL – Wabash Valley College now offers several degree options for students interested in careers in radio, TV, social media, sports, music, and more. The Radio/TV & Digital Media Program is a two-year degree program for students interested in various aspects of career opportunities in broadcasting and new media. The Sports Marketing & Media Program is a two-year degree program for students who want to combine their passion for sports with their marketing and/or broadcasting skills. And, the Music and Media degree program is a two-year degree program designed for students wanting to work in the areas of music performance, audio/video technology, record studio technicians, sound and video technicians, and potentially management positions using digital communications media.
Students in these programs gain valuable hands-on experience by working at 89.1 The Bash-the College’s radio station, and on News Channel 15, the College’s cable TV station. Classes are offered in Radio/TV Announcing, Advertising, TV Production, Digital Editing, Broadcast Management, Audio Production, Sportscasting, and more. Internships at area radio and TV stations are available, and many students are able to find part-time employment at area media companies while completing their degree at WVC.
