White County Sheriff’s Office Receives Reports of Theft, Burglary, Criminal Damage

A rural Carmi church has been broken into according to reports.  White County Sheriff’s officials were called Saturday morning to Zion Methodist Church.  On scene, law enforcement were told the church’s back door was found wide open and say it appeared the door had been pried open with a tool.  Nothing of major value was taken as far as church members know, but it was noted candy bars, sodas, and other assorted snack items had been taken from a basement refrigerator.  A shed behind the church also appeared to be entered, though nothing appeared to be missing.  A Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property complaint was filed.

White County Sheriff also fielded a call a week ago alleging the theft of a license plate.  A Tabor Pest Control employee says the front license plate of his company vehicle was removed and he believes it was stolen while parked in his driveway.  A probable cause Theft under $500 complaint was signed October 30th on that incident.
