White County Bridge Commission Seeks Funding for Harmony Way Bridge

The White County Bridge Commission held a Grant Committee meeting earlier this week.  The organizational meeting was aimed at finding ways to seek funding for the rehabilitation of the Harmony Way Bridge.  Spokesperson Linda Henning says the group is looking at not only federal and state government funding, but also public-private partnership opportunities.  Additionally, “we have another opportunity to apply for the Federal Highway Administration’s BUILD grant which we didn’t receive the first time around.”
The next BUILD grant deadline is February of 2021.  Henning says they’re working to update the application.

This is going to be another “money pi..t”, like the hospital that never happened. Save us taxpayers a lot of money and end this project now.

What a joke. Just another waste of money to benefit no one. Sell it for scrap and be done with it.

Could you write an article describing the study that was just conducted that was to identify the current condition of the bridge and recommended repairs. Was there a cost estimate of what is to be done and the projected useable life after the repairs.
