Two arrested by Grayville Police for assaulting bar employees

Last Tuesday, Grayville Police arrested 54 year old Gary Potter of Albion following a traffic stop at 6pm.  Potter was observed not stopping at a stop sign and during a records check, it was found he did not have a valid driver’s license and did not have valid insurance.  Potter was transported to the White County Jail, and was later released after posting bond.

 

Also on Tuesday, Grayville officers were called to Chappy’s Bar at 9:45pm and took 31 year old Austin Wiggins of Mt. Carmel and 28 year old Jessica Aten of Lawrenceville into custody after an altercation with employees.  Wiggins and Aten are accused of assaulting two individuals after being denied entrance.  Edwards County EMS arrived on scene to check on all parties involved, and at that time, Aten is also accused of damaging equipment inside the ambulance.  Both were taken to the White County Jail and charged with battery.  Aten faces an additional charge of criminal damage to government supported property.

 

49 year old Jeffrey Houchin of Grayville was taken into custody on Thursday at his Vine Street residence on a Wayne County warrant for Theft and Criminal Damage.  Grayville officers took Houchin to the police department, where he was transferred to the custody of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
