Sunday accident in White County sends three to hospital

Illinois State Police District 19 troopers responded to an accident Sunday evening in White County.

According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, 23 year old Serina B. Kocher of Olney, was traveling south on U.S. Rt. 45, just south of White County Road 300N just after 5 pm, when she lost control of her van on the wet pavement.  The van crossed the northbound lane of travel and left the roadway to the east, before returning to the northbound lane and striking the front of a black Ford Expedition driven by 35 year old Ginger L. Launius of Broughton.
Kocher was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.

Launius and a passenger in the Ford Expedition, 36 year old Timothy J. Buskirk of Norris City, were also transported to an area hospital by a private party for evaluation of their injuries.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Norris City Police Department, Norris City Fire Department

and the White County Ambulance Service.
Kocher was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
