Successful Awards Day at C-WC High
Carmi White County students had another successful Awards Day Friday at the High School auditorium. In total, seniors qualified to receive more than $426,000 in scholarships this year. There will be 83 graduating seniors this year. Of the senior class, 64% will be moving on to higher education while 20% are planning to join the workforce and an additional 6% ( 5 students) are joining the military.
Austin Wheeler will join the US Marine Corps, while Hailey Trout and Logan Spruell will aim high with the Air Force. Breanna Swanberg and Drake Truelove have signed up for National Guard duty. Megan Rice is headed to Lipscomb University in Nashville where she plans to study Nursing. Daniel Slaton, Dillon Womack, and Kelsi Kessler are all headed for the University of Illinois. Cole Blazier will be a Saluki this fall down in Carbondale. Chase Harms and Lauren Kreps will make the trek to the University of Southern Indiana. Mason Marshall has signed on to continue his education at Vincennes University and Julia Smith will play softball for Lincoln Trail. Niki Lamont and Cooper Craig will attend Southeastern Illinois College on Theater Scholarships.
Carmi White County High School has Co-Valedictorians this year in Kelsi Kessler and Emily Brown. The Carmi White County High School Graduation Ceremony will be held on the evening of Tuesday, May 14th.
