Illinois State Police District 19 troopers responded to an accident on I64 that sent a St. Louis man to the hospital.
According to the preliminary crash report, 51 year old Rodney Taylor was travelling west at 9:40am Sunday when he fell asleep at mile post 123 and ran off the road into the center median.
Taylor’s car struck a guardrail, causing it to overturn and catch fire. Taylor was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the White County Sheriff’s Department, Little Wabash Fire Department, and the White County Ambulance Service.
Taylor was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
