Carmi Rotary Club meeting
The Carmi Rotary club held a very short meeting on Thursday as they discussed two upcoming events.
First up will be the fundraiser for the Murphy brothers of Carmi who recently lost their home in a fire. Several groups are working together to get the brothers in to a new home, and the Rotary club will be taking care of serving the meal on Saturday, April 27th at the Lion’s Den.
The club also discussed the upcoming Rotary Fish Fry, which will be held in May. Two dates are being looked at, and more information will be upcoming once the final date is chosen.
In club business, the members voted to donate one hundred dollars to Pets at Risk, for their upcoming Burrell’s Woods fundraiser.
Sheri Logan won the 50/50 drawing but failed to claim the day’s large cash prize, meaning the pot rolls over to next week. Cindy Conley was named the day’s phantom.
The Carmi Rotary club meets every Thursday at noon at the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Carmi. Anyone wishing to learn more about this civic organization is welcome to attend a meeting or speak with any Carmi Rotarian.
