Acting on information received from a call to White County Dispatch, deputies were told that just before 7:30pm, 46 year old Scott Jarvis was at a residence on Shipley Street.  As the arresting officer made his way to that location, he noticed a small car leave.  With assistance from the Carmi Police Department, the car was pulled over and Jarvis was identified as the front seat passenger.  Jarvis was taken into custody on two warrants out of White County and one from Saline County.  He is being held on a $2000 bond at the White County Jail.

The driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Joel M Sanders of McLeansboro was also taken into custody after showing signs of intoxication and failing several roadside sobriety tests.  Sanders was processed at the White County Jail and later released on a $100 bond.

A passenger in the backseat, 50 year old David Vaughn of McLeansboro, was given a citation for illegal transportation of alcohol for an open container.

The Sheriff’s Department also investigated a report of a break-in over the weekend.  Craig Masterson of Burnt Prairie reported that sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, someone forcibly entered the office of Burnt Prairie Fertilizer and stole the petty cash box.  Responding deputies gathered evidence at the scene and the investigation into the burglary continues.
