The White County Sheriff’s Department arrested 25 year old Michael Aud of Carmi late Tuesday night on a charge of battery after he was accused of striking a man in the face multiple times. Sheriff’s deputies and Carmi Police found Aud later in his vehicle parked in front of a residence on Sixth Street, where he was arrested just before midnight. While he was being taken into custody, the arresting officer reported that Aud was uncooperative and argumentative. Aud was charged with battery, resisting a police officer, and driving on a suspended license. He is currently being held at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
Wednesday morning, 34 year old Melisa Jack of Energy was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies at the White County Probation office after a probation officer informed the Department of an active White County warrant. A records check also showed that Jack had active warrants for her arrest from Saline and Jefferson Counties. Jack was taken into custody just after 9 am and is being held at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
