Scarlett Heading to Prison

Scarlett Heading to Prison

A Crossville man will spend the next five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated domestic battery stemming from an incident between him and his father last month at the father’s home in Crossville.

White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud says 52-year-old Andy L. Scarlett will have to serve 85 percent the sentence and serve four years of mandatory supervised release.

Scarlett and his father, 86-year-old Gene L. Scarlett, were involved in a verbal argument at the elder Scarlett’s home in Crossville last month. Andy Scarlett struck his father with a metal cane several times in the head causing a large gash to the back of Gene Scarlett head.  He was treated at the scene, then taken to an Indiana hospital for further treatment.

Andy Scarlett was then located by Crossville Police and the White County Sheriff’s Office on the back patio of the home, at which time he was arrested, and charged with aggravated domestic battery and taken to the White County Jail.
